Henriette Bimmelbahn is James Krüss’ precious old railway. Anyone who has read the children’s books of the same name will assume that the historic Bergedorf-Geesthacht railway was the model by Krüss. “Karoline”, the aging steam locomotive of the Geesthacht Railway Association e. V. makes six trips a year to Bergedorf and back. Along a brief stretch, the locomotive even travels directly along the Elbe, steaming away.
